Moth Control in Richmond upon Thames: what we see locally
Clothes moths are a serious problem in Richmond's period homes, where wool carpets, antique rugs, upholstered furniture and wardrobes of natural fibres are common. Central heating lets moths breed all year.
We treat moths in houses across Richmond Hill, Barnes, Kew, Petersham and Teddington. Our treatment targets wardrobes, under beds and furniture, carpet edges and rugs, and we advise on specialist cleaning for valuable textiles.
We often see moth damage in homes that are used only part of the year, in spare rooms and in dressing rooms where cashmere and wool sit undisturbed for months. Damage is usually first noticed as a small hole or a thin patch of carpet.
Where we find moths in Richmond upon Thames
- Wardrobes: Wool, cashmere and silk are the main target.
- Antique rugs: Larvae often feed on the underside where damage goes unnoticed.
- Fitted wool carpets: Damage appears under furniture and along skirting.
- Stored clothing: Seasonal clothes in lofts can harbour moths.
