Pest control in Becontree

Local pest control in Becontree, RM8, RM9

Becontree is one of the largest council estates ever built, with around 25,000 homes built in the 1920s and 1930s across Barking and Dagenham. Its cottage-style terraces, long back gardens and green spaces such as Parsloes Park and Mayesbrook Park give it a distinctive character.

The estate's terraces share roof voids and floor spaces, which allows mice to move from one house to the next. Long gardens with sheds and decking are perfect for rats, and wasps often nest in the lofts and under the tiles in summer.

Many Becontree homes have now been extended or modernised, and the joints between old and new work are a common way in for mice and ants. We see a lot of the same patterns from street to street here, which means our technicians can usually pinpoint the entry point quickly and suggest simple proofing that makes a real difference.

Common pests in Becontree

Keeping pests out of Becontree homes

On the Becontree Estate, mice often pass between houses through gaps in the loft and under the floor. If your neighbours have mice too, treating both homes at the same time and sealing the gaps gives the best result.
